Abstract:
Discusses the function of picture postcards in spreading antisemitic stereotypes. The postcards made fun of Jewish names, physiognomy, body language, speech, and habits, making them so familiar that the Nazis could later summon them up by a mere hint (e.g. calling an enemy "Isidore", a "Jewish" name). A popular series was based on a comic song, "Der kleine Cohn", on a Jew caught by his wife in a sexual escapade.
