Abstract:
A paper presented at the "Remembering for the Future" conference held in Oxford, July 1988. Discusses the state of the post-Holocaust Jewish-Christian dialogue. Examines Christology and the trinitarian doctrine in terms of the belief in the unity of God, and calls on Christians to interpret that belief as a Christian Sh’ma, in order to avoid fatal support of victimization. Discusses the doctrine of Dietrich Bonhoeffer on this issue, and gives suggestions as to how solutions can be found to advance the Jewish-Christian dialogue.
