Abstract:
Deals, among other subjects, with the question whether the ideology and the propaganda of the AUS in 1974-75 contained an antisemitic element (besides its political anti-Zionism). Contends that there was, indeed, a strong antisemitic faction in the AUS, which compared pro-Israel Jews with Nazis, spoke about the "Zionist-Nazi alliance, " regarded Zionism as a part of the fascist movement in Australia, divided the Jews into two groups - the "bad" pro-Israel majority and a "good" anti-Israel minority, and even spoke about Zionist influence in the state. Among the leftist organizations in Australia which influenced the AUS, it was the Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist, Maoist) and the Socialist Left faction of the Australian Labor Party which expressed antisemitic views.
