Abstract:
The Greater New York Jewish Population Study, initiated in 1981, is to the best of our knowledge the largest random sample design population study of a diaspora Jewish locality conducted to date. Commissioned by the New York Federation of Jewish Philanthropies-UJA, the study is based on data collected from 4,505 households in the five boroughs of New York City (the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island) and three adjourning suburban counties (Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester).
