Abstract:
Examines the activities of the Department of Jewish Affairs IVB4 in the RSHA, headed by Eichmann, in its capacity as the main organizer of the deportation of Jews from the greater Reich (including Austria and the Czech Lands). Dwells on the operational procedures of this department, and on some special problems confronted by it (e.g. the treatment of various categories of Jews "protected" from deportation). Concludes that the Nazi officers in charge fully understood the gravity of what they were doing, and in persisting in their activities they demonstrated a greater degree of evil than if they had not known. Their participation in the deportation (in fact, genocide) of Jews is an example of the active malice and antisemitism of the officials in department IVB4.
