Abstract:
States that the Talmud and rabbinic literature (especially Rashi's writings) were discovered by the Christian world only as a result of the Paris disputation of 1240. After the disputation a special file was compiled of translations from Hebrew sources, including Christian arguments intended to establish the scandalous character of this literature: the authority of the Talmud, blasphemy, defamations of Christianity, etc. The translations were the work of a converted Jew, Thibaud de Sézanne, himself the author of an anti-Jewish polemical treatise.
