Abstract:
Interprets the biblical subject of Jacob wrestling with a stranger and his subsequent encounter with Esau as an allegory of the Christian legacy of supersessionism, the contention that Christianity has displaced Judaism and is the successor of Israel. Calls on Christians to revise their attitude to Judaism, because the long history of contempt led to the twelve years of Hitler's terror.
Note:
On Jewish-Christian relations after the Holocaust.
