Abstract:
Describes the persecution of the Jews of Nancy from June 1940, when the Nazis occupied the town. Deals with the activities of UGIF, and the roles and attitudes of Chief-Rabbi Haguenauer and of Gustave Nordon, an industrialist. Describes the roundups, organization of a camp in Ecrouves, and transports to Drancy. Ca. 700 Jews were deported (out of 2,625 persons who had been declared as Jews in September 1940), among them Nordon and Haguenauer.
