Abstract:
Presents a heretofore unknown report by Tytus Komarnicki, who worked in France during World War II as the head of TOPF - Towarzystwo Opieki nad Polakami we Francji (Society for Aid to Poles in France). Gives some information about the camps in Récébédou, Noë, Rivesaltes, Gurs, and Les Milles, including the numbers of Polish Jews interned there (they had moved to France in the interwar period but did not obtain French citizenship). Komarnicki visited these camps and verified the number of Jews who should be helped. Discusses the criteria for aid (e.g. possession of a Polish passport) and the ways in which it should be given, in coordination with Jewish organizations.
Note:
Pp. 124-140 contain the text of the report by Komarnicki who worked in France during the war as head of an organization for aid to Poles in France.
