Kurzfassung:
Pt. 1 presents two excerpts from the writings of Szmul Zygielbojm, translated from Yiddish into French by Weinstock. The first contains his testimony on the beginning of the Nazi occupation in Warsaw and the situation of the Jewish community under the occupation (pp. 127-143). The second contains fragments of Zygielbojm's testimony on his escape from Poland. The originals are kept in the YIVO Archives in New York, and were partially published in the "Zygielbojm-Bukh" (New York, 1948). Pt. 2 contains translations of letters from Zygielbojm to representatives of the Polish Bund in America (written between November 1942-May 1943); a letter of farewell to the President of Poland, Władysław Raczkiewicz, and Prime Minister Władysław Sikorski; farewell letters to friends from the Bund; the resume of a conversation between Reuben Ainsztein and Isaac Deutscher discussing Zygielbojm's suicide (committed in London in 1943); and facsimiles of other letters and documents.
Anmerkung:
Presents Zygielbojm's account of the German occupation of Warsaw and of his escape (pp. 127-177).
