Kurzfassung:
A short history of the Yiddish school in Soviet Belorussia. Between 1933-38 the authorities carried out the policy of suppression of Yiddish schools in the republic. In July 1938, all Yiddish schools, as well as all institutions for teacher-training in Belorussia were closed. Contends that although Yiddish schools were not popular among the Jews of Belorussia, and for practical reasons many parents preferred to send their children to Russian schools, the argument of the authorities that the action was taken in order to satisfy parents' demands was not true - it was part of the campaign to suppress minority' cultures in Belorussia.
