Ein Blick in die populäre Kultur der letzten Jahre genügt: Die Palette reicht vom »Nazi-Chic« der Modewelt über sexualisierte und trashige Bilder des Nationalsozialismus im Kino bis zur faschistischen Ästhetik in der Selbstinszenierung international bekannter Musiker. Der vorliegende Band diskutiert kritisch die mal subtilen, mal plakativen Zitate faschistischer Symbolik und fragt nach Funktion und Resonanz dieses popkulturellen Phänomens. Die behandelten Beispiele führen von Kriegsfilmen wie INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS über Comic-Verfilmungen (THE SPIRIT) hin zu pornografischen Inszenierungen, vom Manga-»Cosplay« in den Fetischclubs über die Rock-’n’-Roll-Posen eines Marilyn Manson bis zur kritischen Überaffirmation der slowenischen Band Laibach.
