Abstract:
Traces the history of the Jewish community in Nievern, Rhineland (consisting essentially of two extended families), including residence and other restrictions up to the 1860s. Pp. 14-22 describe the persecutions of the Nazi period, dwelling especially on the "Kristallnacht" pogrom. Reprints the condemnation of the war crimes court in 1950 of the "crimes against humanity" committed by the ringleaders of the pogrom, who, however, received extremely light sentences.
