Abstract:
Analyzes the attitude of Suvorin (1834-1912), journalist, editor and owner of the newspaper "Novoye Vremya", to the "Jewish question". As a Russian nationalist, he expressed anti-alien and anti-Jewish stances. He shunned extremism (such as the Black Hundred's ideology or "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion"), sharply opposed terrorist methods in the "struggle" against Jewry, and was concerned about his reputation as an official spokesman, but his publications instigated anti-Jewish feelings amongst the populace.
