Abstract:
Discusses artistic works about the Holocaust and claims that, while many outstanding works have been produced, some genocidal acts have been commercialized and vulgarized. States that more works have been created about the Holocaust than any other genocide in history, partly because many survivors feel that it is their duty, that they owe it to those who were killed. Through their works, they attempt to combat indifference to the atrocities committed by the Nazis. Discusses Holocaust literature, films, art, and music. Pp. 220-231 contain an annotated bibliography of novels, short stories, and poetry on the Holocaust, as well as works on Holocaust art, films, and music.
