Kurzfassung:
Contends that metaphoric process can be found in the texts when Moses is equating Yahweh (the God of the Exodus) with El (the God of the Fathers) as the one and only God of Israel.. But this advance toward monotheism leaves out the goddess with whom the god-figure of the Middle East procreated. Posits, however, that Asherah, the spouse of the Semitic god El, remained in the minds of the tribes of Israel and they continued to worship her, as she is frequently mentioned in the Hebrew Bible.
