Abstract:
Dmowski (1864-1939) was the principle ideologist of the Polish Right. In the 1920s he espoused the ideas of Italian fascism, gravely underestimating the German threat to Poland. He was a rabid antisemite, arguing that the Jewish presence in Poland had prevented the emergence of a Polish middle class. He was convinced that the Jews dominated European politics, and that this would inevitably cause a violent anti-Jewish reaction.
