Kurzfassung:
Discusses the experiences of Jewish women in the labor camp of Ober-Hohenelbe (now Vrchlabí, Czech Republic), which was established in the Sudentenland in September 1944 as a satellite of Gross-Rosen. Focuses on the experiences of Lili Kasticher-Hirt, born in 1923 in Yugoslavia, who organized a group of ca. 20 young women and initiated a "culture hour" on Sundays, during which they were able to present literary and art works. Kasticher-Hirt managed to preserve some of her own works, as well as those of other inmates. The article includes some of the drawings made in the camp, as well as several poems and a short story.
