Abstract: Discusses a letter (presented on pp. 392-393) dated 20 November 1937 sent to Eichmann by Otto Albrecht von Bolschwing, his colleague in the section for Jewish affairs of the SD. He reports having overheard a conversation between Ernst Marcus, one of the two directors of the Paltreu, the organization in charge of administering the Transfer Agreement with the Jewish Agency, and another Jew. Marcus supposedly made uncomplimentary remarks about Eichmann. On inquiry, Bolschwing found out that Marcus and his partner, Robert Bermann, were trying to gain access to high officials in the foreign currency section of the Reich Economic Office and the Foreign Office, who were favorably disposed to the Haavara (Transfer). This was dangerous in regard to Eichmann's policy of restricting the Haavara as far as he could. Pp. 387-391 explain the contents of the letter and the persons involved, adding that Marcus and Bermann were promptly summoned to Eichmann's office for interrogation.
Note: On a letter received by Eichmann in November 1937 from Otto Albrecht von Bolschwing regarding the Jews.
