Kurzfassung:
Discusses Hungarian literature dealing with Jewish themes, written by Jews and non-Jews in the 1970s-early 1980s. The themes include traditional Jewish life before the Second World War, the Holocaust, and issues of assimilation and rejection. The Jewish self-image in most of these works is either ambivalent or negative. Mentions an essay on Hungarian antisemitism by György Száraz, written in 1976, which shows that antisemitism has been a ubiquitous feature of Hungarian Jewish history.
