Abstract:
Examines the suicides of two Jewish writers: that of Otto Weininger (1903) and of Stefan Zweig (1942), dwelling on the role played by antisemitism in their decisions. One of Weininger's motifs was his deep hatred for the Jews and for himself. Zweig committed suicide because he was convinced that Hitler would conquer the world, and wished that "the Nazis would never find him alive."
