Abstract:
FOREIGN AIDS is a journey through the minefields of South Africa today - not a fear of bombs and terrorists, but of a virus that has no cure. To Care is to Cure, but with a government not willing to confront the issue of the AIDS-pandemic, Pieter-Dirk Uys uses his weapon of mass destraction and humour, to illustrate the courage and the hope that the South African people have, the children demand, and the future expects. In the show Uys will introduce to his Berlin audience Mrs Evita Bezuidenhout, his most famous creation, as well as her sister Bambi Kellermann, Jewish-African-Princess Nowell Fine, Desmond Tutu, PW Botha and Nelson Mandela.
