Abstract:
Deals with the life story and activities of A. Weiter, the pseudonym of Izak-Meir Devenishski (1878?-1919), a radical leftist and Bund activist in Poland, Russia, and Lithuania up to the Bolshevik Revolution, as well as a Yiddish-language publicist and man of letters, who was shot by Polish soldiers during the Polish occupation of Vilna in April 1919. also discusses the anti-Jewish riots instigated by the Polish army, which regarded the Jews as Bolsheviks and as anti-Polish.
