Abstract:
Surveys the activities of some Jewish personalities (e.g. Adolph Stern, Leib Jirelsohn, Carol Klüger, Mayer Ebner) who became members of the Romanian Parliament in the beginning of the 1920s. Describes their parliamentary struggles for civic rights for Romanian Jewry, such as obtaining Romanian citizenship and opening Jewish schools. One of the main themes in their parliamentary activities was the struggle against antisemitism.
