Abstract:
Describes the activities of four consecutive Nazi civil administrators in Kraków during the occupation. Analyzes regulations issued by them concerning the general administration of the town, economic issues, communal taxes, food deliveries, health, etc. Quotes from various proclamations distributed in the streets of the city, among them ones concerning the Jewish population of Krakow. All the proclamations relating to the Jews were discriminatory, e.g. limits on use of public transport, prohibition of entry to public parks, obligation of forced labor from 1940, and ghettoization in 1941.
