Abstract:
The subject of the analysis is the anthology of Michał M. Borwicz from 1947, the first representative anthology of primarily Jewish poetry after and about the Shoah in Poland, documenting the works of about 60 authors. Reference is made to the constructive character of such an anthology, that is, the (cultural) production of testimony. Memory depends on testimonies and testimony. Such testimonies are located in a cultural context. Borwicz has assigned his anthology to the Polish-Romantic tradition; he opted for the Polish-Jewish unity and the tradition of Polish assimilation. The work seeks to articulate the turning point of extermination policy and its literary consequences and transcend the boundaries of stylistic conventions.
