Abstract:
Analyzes the treatise "Les Juifs" (1900) by Georges Delahache (Lucien Aaron, 1872-1929), an Alsatian Jew who felt particularly offended, as a Jew and as an Alsatian, by the antisemitic campaign surrounding the Dreyfus Affair. Explains the background of French ultranationalists' hatred of Alsatians as "potential German spies". Delahache describes French Jewish society of the time and its diversity. He also analyzes antisemitism and argues against it.
