Abstract:
Describes the history, doctrines, and aims of the Hizballah (Shiite Muslim) organization in Lebanon. States that the movement sees the Jews as the greatest foes of Islam, and does not distinguish between Jews, Zionists, and Israel. Jews are seen as the root of all evil; they spread AIDS, drugs, and prostitution; they are deceitful, treacherous, bloodthirsty, and avaricious; they propagate Western ideas that destroy religion and morals. Hizballah, like much of the Arab world, also denies or relativizes the Holocaust and believes in the Jewish world conspiracy. Although its leaders have recently become more pragmatic, they have not changed their attitudes toward Israel and the Jews.
