Kurzfassung:
The rise of the Nazi regime led to an increase in Jewish occupational retraining programs, especially agricultural ones, most of which were operated by Zionists and aimed to prepare Jewish youth for emigration to the Land of Israel. This phenomenon led to controversies between various party and government agencies over whether the programs should be supported or proscribed. While the Interior Ministry, SS, and Gestapo considered the occupational retraining of Jews a key element in the campaign to remove Jews from Germany and were inclined to support it, the Ministries of Agriculture and Labor, and some other agencies, opposed it on antisemitic grounds, considering Jews incapable of agricultural work and fearing intercourse between Jews and "Aryans". The views of the SS and Gestapo gained the upper hand. This controversy shows a measure of ideological inconsistency in Nazi antisemitism, as well as the pragmatic and improvisational nature of its application.
