Abstract:
Contends that antisemitism exists due to the fact that the Jews are dispersed among the nations and Jewish identity is amorphous. Jews can maintain their identity while adapting to societies in various countries, as happened first during the Babylonian exile. However, some non-Jews feel threatened by the possibility that Jews may penetrate their societies and somehow control them. Antisemitic acts, such as the Holocaust, are often a result of this type of irrational thinking on the part of an influential individual who then expresses his thoughts publicly. Suggests that antisemitism would be reduced if all the Jews were to live in Israel, which is their own country.
