Abstract:
Presents Hebrew translations of two documents written by Belev, who was a legal advisor at the Interior Ministry until August 1942, and then head of the commissariat for Jewish affairs in Bulgaria. He initiated and enforced anti-Jewish laws, and worked with Theodor Dannecker of the SS to facilitate the deportation of Jews. The first document, undated, was probably written in July 1942, and contains a long list of suggested anti-Jewish measures, as well as a proposal to set up a department of Jewish affairs. The second document, written in October 1942, discusses the deportation of Jews, first from Macedonia, and then from the rest of the country.
