Abstract:
Defines Holocaust art as the art created by those who actually experienced its horrors. Concentration camp prisoners who recorded what was going on around them and survivors who painted their past camp experiences used art in three ways: as their biological continuation, the only thing that would remain after their death; as documentation; and as a protest. For the survivors who visualized their past exeriences, art was also a kind of therapy.
