Abstract:
History of the Mayer family: Gustav Mayer's ancestor Baruch (Benedikt) was the first Jew to receive a letter of protection in the Brandenburg hereditary lands after the expulsion of the 16th century; he settled in Odenberg in 1665; his brother Isaac settled in Prenzlau (Brandenburg) in 1673; both were merchants; description of their requests for privileges for the extended family.
