Abstract:
States that two major problems are at the center of the present debate on the role of Switzerland during World War II, the first concerning the bank accounts "without heirs" of Nazi victims, the second concerning the cooperation of Switzerland with the Axis. Both of these topics are closely related to its refugee policy during the war. While in the first years after the war there was little public interest in clarifying the question of the Swiss anti-Jewish refugee policy, from the sixties there has been enlarged interest in this subject. Surveys various publications which appeared between 1967-95. Focusing on recent research, discusses the extent of knowledge in Switzerland in the past and present on the persecution of the Jews, attribution of responsibility, motivation, categories and extent of help, conditions of sojourn, and individual fates.
