Abstract:
Between fall 1941-spring 1945, the Gestapo in Berlin deported about 50,000 Jews to concentration camps. Before deportation, the victims were detained in collection points known as "Sammellagern", usually buildings which served different institutions of the Jewish community. There were 16 such "Sammellagern" functioning at different times or at the same time. Describes the location of these sites and which transport left from each one, based on inventories of the Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland and of the Jewish Community of Berlin. Notes that the history of these buildings has been virtually erased from public consciousness.
