Mischlinge (Nuremberg Laws of 1935)
Abstract:
Stresses the fact that in Nazi Germany legislation was one of the bureaucratic instruments for the implementation of genocide. From 1933 onward, almost 2,000 laws and administrative regulations were promulgated, providing a legal framework and legitimacy for the actions of the Nazis against the Jews: identifying them as a negative "other", isolating them physically, weakening them systematically, and finally exterminating them. Discusses some of the laws that accompanied this process.
