Abstract:
Describes the participants of the Wannsee Conference, its purposes, and the contents of Heydrich's exposition and of the discussion. Notes that the participants had no authority to decide on the Final Solution: that had been decided on by Hitler and was already being carried out. The conference was called to inform the ministries and to gain their cooperation with the SS. It was clear to all that the intention of the plan was total extermination of the Jews; none of the participants expressed opposition. The discussion dealt solely with ways and means, in particular with the Foreign Office's task of drawing in Germany's allies, and with the question of the Mischlinge.
