Abstract: This article opens with a personal recount on the poet, met in Jerusalem in 1968-1969, memories and reflexions on the man and his work. It evokes the impact of the war and the Shoah, the mobilization in the hospital of Caen, the “Débacle”, the Resistance in Toulouse, in the ranks of the Jewish Action (1940-1942), the adoption of a new surname: Vigée (vie j'ai!), which proclaims the choice of life in the midst of death, the escape and exile in the United States. A providential circumstance allowed him to leave for Israel where he lived for 40 years, teaching from 1960 until his retirement in 1984 at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He moved to France in 2001, due to the illness of Evy, his beloved wife. We also discover the poetic art of Vigée for whom literature is a testimony on the passing of time, combining stories, testimonies, essays, interviews, diary pages, with the burst of the poem. The biblical image of "honey in the rock", concretized by the discovery in the Judean mountains of inclusions of golden calcite within limestone, reinforces in him the choice of a literary form that is spontaneous for him : the "judan", in opposition to the novel, premeditate and closed fiction, where poetry is rejected in separate publications. It associates the wandering march of the daily life, jubilating, horizontal, with the vertical ecstasy of the poem.
