Abstract:
Claude Vigée wrote two long Alsatian poems Les orties noires and Le feu d’une nuit d’hiver in Jerusalem during the Lebanon war. Aside to prophetic echoes, the reader discerns violent elements in the tragi-comic narration of history. The paradox of the human condition is evocated through the childhood of an Alsatian Jew together with allusions to the prophets Jonas and Daniel. The poetic vision of the blooming almond-tree incarnates the spring of poetry, the lyrical song.
