Abstract:
In August 1941, a group of Jews from the Kishinev ghetto were sent to work at the Ghidighici railway station (a village, now part of the municipality of Chişinău). They were attacked from a military train by Romanian soldiers who threw stones at them; the Jews were seriously injured. They complained to the authorities, and a military investigation ensued. The latter concluded that the soldiers justified, as they were retaliating to an attack upon them by the Jews. Having been found guilty, the 350 Jews were executed by a military machine gun unit.
