Abstract:
In order to be included in the curricula in Russian schools, the Holocaust must be brought into the conceptual framework of contemporary Russian reality and historical consciousness. The teacher must abstain from the ideological clichés characteristic of the Western or Polish pedagogical methods. The Holocaust curriculum for the Russian school must take into account the great losses of the Soviet peoples, unparalleled in the West, both in World War II and in the Stalinist period. It must not accuse all the Eastern European peoples of collaboration with the Nazis. Many problems of the Jewish resistance may be unclear to the Russian pupil. Warns against the "lachrymose" style of teaching Jewish history. It would be better to start with the Jewish contribution to culture and with common traits of the Jews and surrounding peoples.
