Abstract: The Home Army "Wybraniecki" detachment was active in the Kielce region, under the command of Marian Sołtysiak (nom de guerre, "Barabasz") who was also the commanding officer of the Kielce Home Army Sabotage Directorate. Describes events which occurred between fall 1943-spring 1944, when several Jews found in hiding were murdered. Among those who were shot was a group of Jews hidden by Stefan Sawa (who was posthumously awarded the Righteous among the Nations medal), Michał Ferenc, Roman Olizarowski (a soldier in the "Wybraniecki" detachment who was murdered after the discovery of his Jewish origin), Izaak Grynbaum, and three other Jews. After the war, five of the perpetrators were put on trial, including Sołtysiak. Analyzes the facts regarding the murders, the motivations of the perpetrators, the line of defense of the accused, and also questions the validity of some of the sentences.
