Abstract:
Traces the development of Catholic religious education in Austria, especially as reflected in school textbooks. Concludes that after many years of defamation, almost all curricula now require that Judaism have its say. Austrian curricula have been revised in the last few years, and the negative stereotypes are gradually being erased. Nevertheless, prejudice still exists, and this calls for caution.
