Abstract: The increasingly antisemitic climate in Hungary during World War I, Hungary's defeat, and the "White terror" directed greatly against Jews led to a rising resentment within Hungarian society against the integration of the Jews. The "Jewish question" became a topic of public debate. In 1925-26 the Hungarian Jewish periodical "Múlt és Jövő" published a series of interviews conducted by Aladár Komlós with Hungarian Jewish intellectuals. Komlós asked them to reassess the period of emancipation of the Jews and the "Jewish problem". Focuses on the interviews with Lajos Bíró, Tamás Kóbor, and Alexander Bernát. Pp. 100-107 contain excerpts from their interviews.
Note: On a series of three interviews published in "Múlt és Jövő" in 1925-26, with an English translation (pp. 100-107).
