Abstract:
Discussing the expulsion of the Jews from northern France in 1394, concentrates on questions concerning the number of Jews who left, the organization of the departure, and the reactions of Christians to this expulsion. Asserts that at the end of the 14th century there were only a few hundred Jews in northern France, and that after the expulsion there remained a very small number of Jews who had converted to Christianity. Those who left northern France settled in the Dauphine, in Savoie, and in northern Italy.
