ger: Im Zuge der Dissertation werden rabbinische Texte, welche (rabbinische) Einzelschicksale (z.B. Märtyrererzählungen) und Kollektivereignisse (z.B. die Tempelzerstörung) zum Thema haben, auf Humor und Bewältigungsstrategien hin analysiert, wobei vom Babylonischen Talmud als Textbasis ausgehend zeitnahe Vergleichstexte, wie auch spätere Schriften behandelt werden.

eng: In the course of the dissertation, rabbinic texts dealing with (rabbinic) individual fates (e.g. stories of martyrs) and incidents commemorated in collective memory (e.g. the destruction of the Temple) are analysed in terms of humour in general and humour as a coping strategy in particular. Proceeding from the Babylonian Talmud contemporaneous texts and also later ones are examined to provide information about how these texts dealt with the experienced suffering or the decisive event.
