Logbook diary by Sally Scheuer, translated and supplemented with episodes and background observations by his wife Hedwig Scheuer, transcribed by their son, Ernest M. Scheuer.
Abstract:
The journey started in Hamburg on the ship “Tacoma” and went on to Bremen, Antwerp, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador and finally San Diego. With trains the family went on to Los Angeles and San Francisco and finally reached Portland, Oregon on July 7th 1936.
