Abstract: States that, apart from the United States, where inquiries into antisemitism were carried out from 1937, in Europe empirical research on antisemitism began only after World War II. In the USA and in France there are large Jewish minorities which engender research on the coexistence of different ethnic groups, while for Germany and Austria the topic is defined as "overcoming the past". All of the studies also examined stereotypes. Opinion polls were carried out after antisemitic events, such as cemetery desecrations in France in 1990. Contends that since the 1950s there has been a decrease in antisemitism among those in the population who are more highly educated and who grew up after the war.
