Suleiman looks through the conflict to human reality, and finds in the story of his own family's disintegration the universal pathos and tragedy of the parent-child relationship. And the tragedy that the gorgeous days and clear nights will be the same in this beautiful country no matter who lives and who dies, or whichever tribe is in control
