Abstract:
More women saved Jews than did men during the Holocaust in Hungary. In 86% of the cases, Jews were hidden in the home of the rescuer, who acted as a matter of conscience. The men's role was more focused on organizing rescue. Portrays two women rescuers: Mrs. Jászai (full name not given) helped Jewish neighbors who were interned in the local ghetto; for cursing the robbers of Jewish property, she was interned in a camp for seven months. Nina Langlet, under the auspices of the Swedish Red Cross, saved Jews together with her husband Valdemar.
